Is there any risk involved with vibroacoustic therapy?

More than 40,000 hours of therapy have been provided to patients in Europe and USA. There is not a single report of risk or mishap. No significant adverse effects have also been found. However, some patients may experience nausea during the first couple of sessions.

However, as precaution for our clients we do not perform vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) under the following circumstances:

  • Individuals with pacemakers
  • Individuals with very low blood pressure
  • Individuals with a DVT, bleeding disorder, or recent surgery
  • Individuals who have had a recent psychotic episode (active or borderline psychosis)
  • Individuals with open wounds, external or internal bleeding (except menstrual)
  • Individuals who have had a recent thrombosis
  • Women who are pregnant (not because side-effects have been experienced, but because we are cautious!)

If any of these conditions apply to you, please let us know before you schedule an appointment or therapy begins.
